Happy Thursday Everyone! I haven’t done a favorites post in quite a while and for that I apologize. September was an exciting month for me and it was quite fall/ horror themed. I saw the movie IT and it filled me with child like joy, I had quite a few pumpkin flavored coffees and beers, and went to the first haunted house of the season. My Halloween season is shaping up to be an exciting and memorable one. Here are all the items I was really loving this month. I am quite a lip product junkie and this month is really reflecting that.
Etude House Play 101 Stick Contour Duo in #01: This wouldn’t be a favorites video without an Etude House product. It is so hard to find the perfect contour shade and this has it in a cream form. The formula is really creamy blends out like a dream and gives a natural and everyday look. The only downside to this product is you burn through it quickly, but it is easy on the wallet being about $10.
Pür No Filter Blurring Photography Primer: I bought this on a whim during Ulta’s 21 days of beauty and almost returned it after the first day of use (I went overboard with it). This is an iridescent liquid that can be used under or on top of makeup. I use it as a primer and it hydrates my skin without eating off my foundation throughout the day. There is also a subtle glow given off by the product. It also improved the performance of foundations I previously didn’t care for.
Sammuel Jelly & Candy Tint in Black Tea and Grapefruit: The jelly tint in black tea is a color I haven’t seen very often in the tint world, it is literally a glossy tea color. When the gloss wears off you are left with a lovely tint on the lips that lasts all night. The candy tint is a matte light pinky coral color that does not budge. I love to layer the two to do an ombre look on my lips. They both smell like different candies and the packaging on them is to die for. They are a few bucks each and come in a few shades I suggest picking up one…or all of them.
The Body Shop Banana Truly Nourishing Conditioner (not pictured): I don’t know what possessed me to randomly try things out at The Body Shop, but I grabbed a ginger shampoo for my boyfriend and got this for me. My hair is so damaged from regular bleaching and heat styling so I am always on the search for something to put life back into my tired locks. This is a thick conditioner that leaves my hair smelling like bananas mmmmm. My ends feel so soft and my hair has a lot of volume to it. I noticed a difference after my first use. And to top it off it is vegan and silicone free.
Skinfood Fresh Fruit Lip & Cheek in #06: This is a nice glossy color lip balm that you can mix the three shades together to get your own custom shade or use it as a blush. I love this more as a blush because it lasts when set with a bit of translucent powder and all three shades show up on my NC30 skin tone. I have been using this almost every day since I purchased it and it comes in quite a few color combinations to mix and match together. It is also in a cute compact tin that is easy to throw in your purse for touch ups.
ELF Matte to Shimmer Lip Transformer Platte in Nude: These are very creamy and long wearing lipsticks that set very quickly on the lips. All these shades are beautiful on their own but you also have the choice of mixing them for a custom shade. I love myself a nude lip! You also have a transformer shade that is a glittery gloss that was a prelude to their shimmer lip toppers one of which is in this favorites list. This compact has a mirror for touch ups on the go and the packaging looks very sleek.
Essence Volume Stylist Lash Extension Mascara: I over the last few month discovered Essence makeup. They have some very awesome products that are extremely budget friendly, this being one of them. It lengthens my lashes and thickens them as well. The brush is thin and great to get all my lashes and really build them up without giving them clumpy ends and looking like a spidery mess. This is also a drier formula that keeps my lashes cured all day long. This is a cheaper stand in for my HG Pretty Vulgar Mascara.
ELF Shimmer Lip Topper in Brightening Bronze: I bought 3 shades in this the bronze, black, and purple. The purple and black shade don’t work as well as the lighter shades I feel they are almost too opaque and do better as a tinted lip balm. The bronze adds a bit of dimension to a matte lip and helps with lipsticks that are normally too dry or could previously have been too uncomfortable to wear. It also looks very beautiful over nude lipsticks! It just adds a hint of a bronzy shift when it catches the light.
